FYI, this story is more than a year old

Datacom is celebrating after becoming the first Asia Pacific company to achieve Amazon Web Services' managed service partner status, which has been awarded to just 18 AWS service partners worldwide.

Datacom says the status win validates its ability to meet strategic customer business needs and broadens its stable of AWS solutions across the region.

In order to gain AWS managed service partner status Datacom was required to undergo a rigorous third-party audit of more than 75 checklist items across 18 capability areas including security, application and infrastructure migration, solution design, process optimisation and customer support.

Shane Owenby, Amazin Web Services Asia Pacific managing director, says AWS managed service partners are ‘highly skilled at cloud infrastructure and application migration, delivering value to customers by offering a range of services to provide proactive monitoring, automation and management of their customer's environment'.

Alexandra Coates, Datacom director, says joining the AWS managed service program was a natural extension of Datacom's customer-centric strategy and implementation expertise across its 50 year history.

“Datacom's managed service capability on AWS means that no matter where the customer is in their cloud adoption journey, we have the people and the expertise to support their decisions,” Coates says.

“Our goal is to bring a new level of customer centricity to the managed service provider market.
