FYI, this story is more than a year old

Hemisphere Technologies has won local distribution for Stratus Technologies, a United States provider of continuous availability products, in a move the distie says helps its channel extend its reach.

Hemisphere's appointment as master value added distributor for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands will see Stratus targeting specific verticals through a revamped channel strategy.

Peter Phokos, Hemisphere Technologies director, says Stratus is a key part of the distributor's strategy to augment its offering across key enterprise areas, including financial and government sectors.

“This partnership allows us to offer our channel and customers the layered security framework critical to both business continuity and uninterrupted service delivery,” Phokos says.

Charles Fong, Stratus Technologies head of alliances and channels, says the partnership will enable the vendor to ‘significantly' increase its market share across the region.

The company's offerings are designed to ensure critical infrastructure is always up and running, as well as enabling companies to quickly deploy always-on infrastructures.

The companies say the offerings help with downtime prevention, business continuity and maintaining data integrity by mitigating against security risks from server and application downtime.

Andrew Mamonitis, Hemisphere Technologies director, says because Stratus' solutions can integrate seamlessly into any IT infrastructure, partners can deliver a best-in-class solution across all industry.

“This strengthening of our portfolio of security offerings helps our channel extend its reach even further.
