New regional VP a 'real coup' for Aruba Network

Network solutions provider Aruba Networks has today announced the appointment of Steve Wood to the role of senior vice president for the Asia Pacific region.

Wood was appointed to the Aruba Advisory Board in January this year, and has served as an adviser and angel investor to multiple tech start ups, via New Wave Ventures.

Based in Melbourne, Wood will responsible for driving the company's sales and growing Aruba's business across the APAC region. Aruba says he will work closely with the company's country managers to ‘ensure activities are aligned for success'.

Wood adds, “Aruba Networks has a strong reputation in the industry for delivering world-class enterprise mobility and network access solutions and I'm excited at the opportunity to head up the Asia-Pacific team.

He adds, “The increasingly mobile way in which the modern workforce operates provides Aruba Networks with significant growth opportunities in the region and the company's deep understanding of the always-on #GenMobile workforce puts it at the forefront of the industry.” Wood has significant experience in the ICT industry as well as Global Professional Sports (Tennis). He has held senior executive and significant leadership roles in technology marketing and sales at SynOptics, Bay Networks and Alteon Websystems. Wood held the role of president for the APAC region for Nortel from 2001 to 2005, and from 2005 to 2013 he was the chief executive of Tennis Australia, where he oversaw the transformation of Melbourne Park.
