FYI, this story is more than a year old

Cross-platform software solutions vendor Parallels has tapped ex-Microsoft and Apple staffer Jerry Huang to head up the Asia Pacific business.

As vice president and general manager of the Asia Pacific, Huang is charged with growing the Asia Pacific demand for Parallels offerings, which include solutions to enable Windows applications on Macs and an integrated solution for virtual Windows application and desktop deliver to any device, anywhere.

He is also charged with growing the partner ecosystem across the region.

Huang says Asia Pacific and Japan are among the world's most dynamic markets, something that can create challenges for IT departments in effectively scaling IT infrastructure.

“I look forward to leading the expansion of Parallels partner ecosystem in the region, to provide customers with the best solutions and service they need today,” Huang says.

Prior to joining Parallels, Huang was APAC device sales lead for Microsoft, a role he took up after leaving Apple where he was head of enterprise sales for Greater China.

His IT career has also seen him doing stints with Hewlett-Packard and Compaq, and Nokia, among others.

Huang is taking over the position from outgoing Parallels Asia Pacific vice president and general manager, Eugenio Ferrante who is taking on a new role with the company.
