Quantum calls on Guy for increased local channel focus
Mon, 6th Jul 2015
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Quantum has appointed former Brocade and HDS executive Greig Guy as its new regional channel manager for Australia and New Zealand.

The appointment comes as Quantum looks to ramp up its channel engagement locally.

The storage, archive and data protection vendor says Guy will help it build its channel ecosystem through recruiting new partners and expanding relationships with existing partners.

He will also be responsible for managing all aspects of the existing Quantum channel program across Australia and New Zealand, including distribution, value added resellers, system integrators and technology partners.

Guy was previously ANZ regional channel manager for Brocade. He exited that position late last year after nine years in the role and was replaced by Microsoft veteran Paul Barge.

Prior to that he spent eight years as channel manager for Hitachi Data Systems Australia, where he led the company's first partner engagement program in the region.

“Quantum is positioned to add value to existing and future partner offerings and meet the most demanding workflow challenges that end users are facing,” Guy says.

He says he's eager to work with the vendor's existing channel partners to give them the sales and presales support they need ‘to create demand in the market'. He says he's also looking forward to welcoming new partners on board in the coming months.

Anne Collins, Quantum APAC director of channel sales, says Guy is a ‘channel focused expert' who will continue to expand and align local channel relationships with key offerings and objectives for the year ahead.

Quantum says this year it will continue to build on its regional channel partners' success by providing additional archive, backup and storage solutions for the cloud and data center.

The company will also be recruiting new partners in the video surveillance, data center archive and backup, media and entertainment, and high-performance computing segments.
