FYI, this story is more than a year old

Adobe has selected Ingram Micro as its single distribution partner in New Zealand to help drive the uptake of the company’s Value Incentive Program (VIP), which includes Creative Cloud for teams and the Adobe Partner Connection channel program.

Adobe’s Head of Channel, Australia and New Zealand, Muralee Kanagaratnam congratulated Ingram Micro on their successful bid.

“I’m looking forward to working with the team at Ingram Micro, they have demonstrated true partnership through Adobe’s transition of our creative offering to Creative Cloud and are committed to investing in our business,” Kanagaratnam says.

“Ingram Micro offered innovative solutions around the integration of automated systems, the opportunity to leverage existing partnerships and capability for reseller and end user training.

“2013 has been a big year for Adobe’s channel business as we transitioned to Creative Cloud and continued to drive our Acrobat and Education businesses.

“Australia and New Zealand led the world in the adoption of Creative Cloud for teams.

"In Q4, 82% of customers in New Zealand chose to purchase CC for teams over our perpetual offerings, while worldwide the average was 57%.

“In 2014 we look forward to working with Ingram Micro in the New Zealand market and continuing our momentum with Creative Cloud for teams, Acrobat and Education.”

Ingram Micro:

Ingram Micro’s Managing Director for New Zealand, Gary Bigwood, says his team is excited to be chosen as Adobe’s distributor in the New Zealand market place.

“Adobe is the leader in the creative segment and is a very important brand to have in our portfolio and there is real synergy with many of our other product sets," he says.

"The rapid transition and acceptance of Creative Cloud for teams in the New Zealand market is very exciting and has been embraced by the reseller channel.

"We look forward to working with Adobe and our Reseller Partners to realise the great potential of Adobe’s innovative product suite.”

Express Data:

The shift in approach sees the software giant part ways with current co-distributor Express Data.

Following the announcement, Phil Presnall, GM Sales & Marketing, Express Data told The Channel: “Adobe makes great software and the partnership between Express Data and Adobe has been a strong one.

“I believe a single distributor strategy is the correct one for the New Zealand marketplace, we’re just disappointed Adobe didn’t choose Express Data moving forward. We’ll part ways on the best of terms.”
