Duo has signed an exclusive distribution deal with AlienVault, which will see the Kiwi company representing AlienVault's full range of unified threat detection and compliance management solutions across Australia and New Zealand.

Kendra Ross, Duo APAC director, says adding AlienVault to Duo's portfolio was 'very important' for the value-added distributor as it continues building out its security portfolio and will enable the company to offer more robust cyber security solutions that include compliance management, threat intelligence and security management.

“Our partner clients require fast, reliable and the most up-to-the-minute security information to gain a proactive security posture.

“AlienVault's asset detection is crucial to clients: if you don't know what assets you have, how can you protect them?

“Additionally, AlienVault's Open Threat Exchange will provide them with real-time threat alerts from the world's largest crowd-sourced repository of known malicious hosts, while its unified security management solution deploys and offers advanced threat detection and step-by-step response guidance for attacks.”

Ross says all of it is under one dashboard, making for easy and cost-effective management.

AlienVault's unified security management platform provides three types of intrusion detection system capabilities: network intrusion detection, host-based intrusion detection and wireless intrusion detection. This is combined with continuous threat intelligence updates from AlienVault Labs and its Open Threat Exchange.

For its part, AlienVault says the unified security management platform and crowd sourced threat intelligence 'will prove to be a major assent for not only enterprise and government, but also mid-sized organisations who must meet compliance standards and are a high risk category.

“This partnership further accelerates our rapid expansion in the region,” says Justin Endres, AlienVault SVP of sales.
