Local distributor Connector Systems has been involved in hundreds of wireless deployments across various vertical market segments throughout New Zealand and Australia.
Common in many of these installations is the problem of identifying the individual BYOD users on the wireless network and applying the correct security policies.
On a wired network this is handled by a central active directory and by ensuring the individual clients are part of the network domain. On a wireless network with BYOD users this isn’t possible.
To plug the gap, the company has developed a piece of software called Delve. It takes information from various sources within the network, to build up a profile and identify individual BYOD users.
This identity can then be used by firewalls like Dell SonicWall’s appliances to lock down rights, privileges and policies.
The new solution has had two test sites running since November and Connector Systems is now looking for both local and international partners to license or sell the software.
