FYI, this story is more than a year old

Plan B has reached an agreement with the shareholders of Auckland-based private cloud backup and recovery provider Disaster Recovery Group (DRG) to acquire the business and assets of the company.

According to the end-to-end Business Continuity Services provider, the deal will go ahead on 1 April 2014.

Following the agreement both companies were quick to stress that it will be business as usual for DRG’s customers, with all DRG staff being offered contracts by Plan B.

The acquisition is a complimentary bolt-on to Plan B’s existing private cloud backup and replication business, and is part of a wider acquisition strategy following a period of significant growth in the cloud services business over the past few years.

Founded in the late 1990’s as Business Continuity New Zealand Limited, the company renamed to Plan B in 2003, headquartered on Auckland’s North Shore with facilities also in Mount Wellington, Albany, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch.
