Intergen shoot for ERP hat trick at Microsoft Partner Awards
Mon, 9th Mar 2015
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Business solutions provider Intergen has been named as a finalist in five categories at this year's Microsoft Partner Awards.

Having been named NZ Microsoft ERP Partner of the Year for the last two years, IT services firm Intergen says it is this year going for the hat trick.

The annual Microsoft Partner Awards celebrate top Microsoft partners who are creatively solving customer challenges. With Intergen having been selected as a finalist in five categories, Diane Hannay, head of marketing and communications, says everyone in the company is delighted.

“Just to make the finals in any category is a major achievement,” she says. “What's more, Microsoft tells us the quality of entries this year is truly outstanding, and with 99 submissions, it's been a record year for entries.

“It reflects how intense the competition has become in IT services. Technology's evolving faster and faster, and clients rightly demand measurable results from their partners. To succeed, you have to provide a winning combination of technology expertise and proven business value for your customers.

John Skurr, PGG Wrightson national sales support manager, says while the technology is cutting edge, technology is only one part of the picture. “'

To be truly successful, PGGW needed to take its people on the journey and make sure they were ready for a change of this magnitude – exchanging their trusty ‘blue books' for shiny new mobile technology,” he says.

“We were holding core information in our back office system and the challenge was that this wasn't giving us the business benefits we wanted – this information needed to be in the hands of our frontline staff.

“And, even more importantly, our frontline staff, our technical field reps (TFRs), are having vital customer interactions that we needed to capture in the field and automatically bring this information into our CRM system,” says Skurr. “We needed a mobile solution that would allow information to flow both ways and deliver the true business value we knew could be achieved for our Retail and Fruitfed divisions.

He adds, “We'd seen some of Intergen's other mobility work and we knew the skills and capability of their people. Intergen was fantastic, very responsive and always looking for the best outcome.

Intergen is one of the largest and longest serving dedicated providers of Microsoft-based solutions in New Zealand. It has received Microsoft Partner awards in seven of the past eight years, and has been overall Partner of the Year three times.
