A10 has appointed a new vice president of Asia Pacific sales, charged with expanding the company's channel operations.

Song Tang Yih, will be responsible for expanding the application networking company's global sales operations, including channel and regional divisions, and for developing new and existing C-level customer relationships.

Song has more than 20 years experience in the industry, including stints at IBM and Lotus Development, Palo Alton Networks, F5 Networks and, most recently, at Metech International and Advance SCT.

Ray Smets, A10 Networks vice president of worldwide sales says Song's expansive industry knowledge and hands-on management experience will help the company take its global sales team to the next level.

“As a seasoned industry veteran, he is well suited to lead A10 sales regions within the Asia Pacific Theatre, including Southeast Asia, Taiwan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand.

Song's appointment follows A10's recent launch of several new solutions enabled by its Advanced Core Operating System (ACOS) 4.0 platform, which the company says is its ‘most significant' release since its rollout of the 64-bit ACOS platform.

New features include A10 Harmony, an architecture that lays the foundation of a rapid services integration platform for enterprise, cloud and service provider networks.

Other key enhancements include secure interconnect IPsec VPN, SSL Insight, application access management and web application firewall.
