Simms reports Kingston growth in New Zealand

FYI, this story is more than a year old

Kingston recently reported record global revenues of US$6.5 billion for 2010, the highest in company’s history.

The increase in sales over 2009 has been attributed to a rise in average selling price as well as an increase in demand and shipment volume.

Simms distributes Kingston in the UK, Australia and New Zealand and has seen a rise in growth across the memory module products as well as flash memory products.

"We are excited to see the growth in the Kingston business, not only globally but also here in New Zealand,” said Vaughan Nankivell, General Manager – Corporate and Enterprise, for Kingston distributor Simms International.

"This has been backed by the KingstonCare programme which is supported by a number of well-known partners in New Zealand including Datacom and Softsource,” said Nankivell.

Nankivell continues, "In addition to server memory, Kingston has continued its growth here locally in the flash memory market primarily across micro-SD and USB Flash Drives. In the last year, the demand for Solid State Drives within our New Zealand resellers has grown by over 400% as prices have decreased and third generation products released.

"SSD is now an accepted technology offering for both notebook and desktop upgrades, as well as placement inside new machines which is a strong value add for our resellers.”
