Thinxtra, an IoT network and solutions provider, has received two awards for the communications industry in the last six months.
After winning the Commsday Edison Award as Best IoT/M2M Operator in Australia in May, Thinxtra grabbed the winning spot of The Communications Alliance ACOMM Awards for its Best Marketing Initiative aka Smart Council Programme, a programme dedicated to accelerating the deployment of IoT solutions with Councils in Australia.
The winners of the prestigious 2018 Communications Alliance Awards were announced on August 29 at the 12th Annual ACOMM Awards Dinner in Sydney.
Attended by more than 450 industry leaders, the evening’s keynote address was delivered by Senator the Hon. Mitch Fifield, Federal Minister for Communications and the Arts.
The individual category awards were taken out by a star-studded line-up of Australian service providers – featuring long-established players and ‘new faces’.
“The growing pervasiveness and high innovation levels of the Internet of Things is evidenced by the fact that IoT-oriented companies - Reekoh, Thinxtra and NNNCo - took out awards in three separate categories,” says Communications Alliance CEO John Stanton.
“The ACOMM Awards represent the pinnacle of achievement for the Australian communications industry and I congratulate all the winners and finalists in the 2018 ACOMMS. Excellence in innovation is a pervasive trait in the achievements of the 2018 ACOMM winners.”
Thinxtra CEO Loic Barancourt adds, “We are really excited to receive such a prestigious award. It is for us a true recognition of the hard work the Thinxtra team is demonstrating every day to make IoT a reality in Australia.”
Thinxtra is empowering the Internet of Things in Asia Pacific by operating the Sigfox LPWA network as well as enabling a full eco-system of IoT solutions and services partners to connect the non-connected, increase productivity, accelerate decision making, improve quality of service and quality of life, and to find more economical solutions to common problems.
The company was also nominated for two further awards:
The NZ Hi-Tech Awards 2018 in May for the “Best Contribution by an Internationally Headquartered Company” coming in second place.
And the Australian IoT Hub Awards 2018 in June, for “Best Municipal Project” for the Smart Council Programme.
