FYI, this story is more than a year old

Backup solutions provider Veeam has announced the appointment of Janet Docherty as ANZ channel sales head.

Janet will be replacing Belinda Jurisic, who recently stepped into the newly created role of APJ channel director.

Reporting to ANZ region vice president Gary Mitchell, Docherty will be responsible for leading Veeam's channel team in Australia and New Zealand, working with a network of more than 1,000 resellers and distributors to drive growth in ANZ.

The region is already seeing growth, with over 30% year-over-year (YoY) growth in bookings annually.

Docherty will be tasked with increasing revenue in this market through Veeam's channel partnerships.

Formerly of Veritas and Symantec, Janet brings 20 years of experience in channel partner engagements and has demonstrated sound channel management skills that drive impressive sales and revenue growth.

At Veeam, Docherty will also be driving Veeam's ANZ channel strategy as a part of the wider business objectives to ensure data is managed safely, securely and kept available.

Janet and her team will support Veeam's goal of delivering cloud data management solutions to businesses across the region.

On her appointment, Docherty says, “I'm honoured to be joining the Veeam team and leading the ANZ channel team to success. I'm impressed by the growth that Veeam has seen over the past few years, not only in the market but across the globe. I am excited to be driving this in ANZ.

Veeam ANZ region vice president Gary Mitchell adds. “As Veeam is 100% sold through the channel, this is an important component of our business and one that we're happy to place in Janet's experienced and capable hands.

“We're confident that Janet will flourish in the role and will achieve great success across the ANZ region.

Asia Pacific and Japan senior vice president Shaun McLagan says, “Exciting times for Veeam, as we have the opportunity to promote a strong leader in Belinda to APJ roles and also to attract the best talent in the industry to join our ANZ Leadership team.

“We couldn't be more thrilled with Janet's track record, as she will be instrumental in our growth.
