Acronis offers backup software for netbooks

The company launched the industry-first backup and recovery software aimed at the booming netbook market.acronis_logo.jpgThe software is optimised for netbooks’ screen size and unique hardware configuration and is called Acronis True Image Home 2010 Netbook Edition. The software supports Windows 7, Vista, XP Home and XP Professional operating systems.Bill Taylor-Mountford, General Manager of Acronis ANZ said: “With more and more people using netbooks for convenience on the go, backing up netbooks becomes a necessity. As backup experts, we understand that netbook backups require the same level of reliability and flexibility as normal PCs, they also have unique requirements due to the hardware limitations.”He added: “By delivering the first-ever netbook-optimised backup and recovery software, Acronis is continuing its pledge to develop industry-leading solutions.”The software can currently be downloaded from the company’s Australian site and is priced at AUS $39.99. Another announcement about its general availability in New Zealand will be made in the future.
