FYI, this story is more than a year old

AVG Technologies, the online security company, has announced the immediate availability of AVG Business Secure Sign-On (SSO).

AVG Business SSO aims to provide AVG partners and business owners with the means of controllling company data on employees' mobile devices and cloud applications. It utilises technology from Centrify, the provider of unified identity management.

AVG says the offering will help small business customers who are facing challenges surrounding BYOD and password management by providing services that give customers management of their users' mobile device data and applications.

It provides centralised control of cloud and mobile apps/data for authentication of end-user mobile devices; identity policy, verification and mobile device management; support for a large range of business applications; and integreation with AVG Business Managed Workplace.

“In partnership with Centrify, AVG's Secure Sign-On supports the most popular operating systems including Windows, Mac, iOS and Android in recognition of the multi-device world that small businesses have embraced today,” says Shreyas Sadalgi, Centrify SVP of business development.

Mike Foreman, AVG Business general manager, says, “Mass ownership of personal mobile devices, the adoption of popular consumer cloud services like Skype and Dropbox for business purposes and the impact of the Internet of Things have been the catalysts for true ‘business without walls'.”

“Business in a fully connected environment puts smaller firms at risk of data breaches. AVG Business SSO for the first time makes it simple for businesses without big budgets or in-house IT staff to keep company confidential data safe, private and within their control, even while it is shared with employee-owned mobile devices and externally hosted cloud services,” he says.
