FYI, this story is more than a year old

Avnet has inked a distribution deal which will see it providing Supermicro Computers' range of server technologies to the Australian and New Zealand markets in a deal designed to enable resellers to get to market faster and uncover profitable growth opportunities.

The deal covers a broad range of Supermicro products including blades, chassis, GPU systems, motherboards, networking solutions, power supplies, servers, server management software, storage technologies, SuperRack cabinets and accessories and workstations.

Darren Adams, Avnet Technology Solutions Australia and New Zealand vice president and general manager, says Supermicro's ‘innovative, scalable technology', coupled with the vendor's green approach to business appealed to Avnet.

“Supermicro, a market leader based on first-to-market technology, is a great fit for Avnet as we continue to offer our channel partners best-in-class solutions,” Adams says.

Wally Liaw, Supermicro senior vice president of international sales, says the deal builds on a global relationship with Avnet and adds a strong selling platform to the ANZ region for the vendor's total solution, reference architectures and fully-integrated SuperServers.

Avnet says the two companies are in a strong position ‘to offer a compelling value proposition to resellers and end customers that enables them to get to market faster and uncover profitable growth opportunities'.

The distributor will provide its partners, including system integrators, value added resellers and ISVs, with Supermicro's range, including products for advanced server Building Blocks Solutions, cloud coputing and Hadoop solutions.

Pre-configured, fully tested solutions based on Super Micro technology will be available via Avnet's integration services.
