BeyondTrust named Leader in 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for PAM
BeyondTrust has been recognised as a Leader in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Privileged Access Management, marking the seventh consecutive year it has achieved this status.
The company has been ranked highest of all vendors in the Ability to Execute, a criterion that evaluates aspects including product strategy, innovation, and understanding of the market. Its position in the report also considers the completeness of vision, with BeyondTrust combining both factors to secure its place in the Leaders Quadrant.
Assessment criteria
The Gartner Magic Quadrant evaluates vendors through a range of criteria. For Privileged Access Management, factors include the depth and execution of a vendor's product strategy, the pace and quality of innovation, as well as a vendor's understanding of current and potential market developments. BeyondTrust has been recognised for its performance against these measures across consecutive years.
Identity security approach
"At the heart of every breach is an attacker who compromises the right identity or entitlement with the right access. As identity has become the new perimeter, spanning people, machines and now, AI, organisations need the ability to reduce privilege risk, while at the same time enabling the business," said Janine Seebeck, CEO at BeyondTrust. "We are proud to once again be recognised by Gartner as a Leader in their Magic Quadrant for PAM, and to continue to provide our customers with the industry's most complete identity security platform for the AI era and beyond."
BeyondTrust believes that the increasing use of autonomously operating agentic AI systems, which can provision access, interact with infrastructure, and make decisions, demonstrates the continued need for privilege-centric identity security. The company emphasises the importance of securing less visible layers of access, such as secrets and machine identities, across hybrid, multicloud, and AI-driven environments.
According to the company, its recently expanded Secrets Insights capability within its Identity Security Insights solution aims to address these issues by providing visibility and risk management for aspects including unmanaged API keys, service account credentials, and tokens.
Industry recognition
The 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant recognition follows recent developments at BeyondTrust. The company has launched what it describes as the first production-ready identity security controls for agentic AI, designed to help organisations respond to new privileged access management challenges emerging from AI advancements.
Earlier in the year, BeyondTrust was also named a Leader in The Forrester Wave: Privileged Identity Management Solutions, Q3 2025. In that report, the company was acknowledged for its "exceptional vision" centering on an identity-first security strategy. BeyondTrust was also named a Leader in the 2025 KuppingerCole Leadership Compass for Enterprise Secrets Management, and was praised for its effectiveness in managing both human and non-human identities at enterprise scale.
Assessing risk
As part of its response to ongoing identity security challenges, BeyondTrust has expanded its free Identity Security Risk Assessment to provide visibility into risks associated with agentic AI, in addition to existing identity and privilege-related exposures. This tool is available to organisations seeking to understand their risk posture across increasingly complex IT environments.
The Gartner Magic Quadrant report includes standard disclaimers, stating that Gartner does not endorse any vendor, product or service depicted in its research publications, and does not advise technology users to select only those vendors with the highest ratings or other designation. The research consists of Gartner's opinions and does not constitute statements of fact.
BeyondTrust continues to serve a global customer base and partner ecosystem, with its identity-centric strategy focused on securing access and privileges in response to changing technological and business requirements.
