Blue Coat Systems has appointed Joe McPhillips as its Director of Channels for the Asia Pacific region.

Based in Sydney, McPhillips is responsible for managing Blue Coat channel partner activities across the region, including developing channel strategy, channel partner recruitment and channel enablement.

"Developing joint business plans will enable Blue Coat and our partners to move in lock-step as we extend our presence throughout the region," said McPhillips. "By aligning our strategy and goals, we can work together more productively to help organisations make their networks faster and safer."

Prior to joining Blue Coat, McPhillips was director of alliances for Asia Pacific and Japan at data management and backup software company CommVault.
