FYI, this story is more than a year old

Brocade has appointed Gary Denman to the position of senior director for Australia and New Zealand ANZ, poaching the former managing director from Polycom.

In this role, Denman will be responsible for leading the company's operations and go-to-market strategies in the ANZ region, with specific focus on accelerating growth in the software networking market in the region.

He will be based in Sydney, Australia, and report to Adam Judd, Brocade vice president for Asia Pacific (APAC).

"The ANZ region is one of the most advanced markets in the deployment of next-generation high-speed networks within APAC, and it continues to be a strategic and focused market for Brocade as we deepen our focus on Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualisation (NFV) across the region," Judd says.

"Gary has a proven track record in developing customer-focused organisations and delivering strong business growth across the commercial, government, and service provider sectors.

"Gary will play an instrumental role in accelerating our growth in ANZ, and we are confident he will bring tremendous value to our customers and partners as we capture the momentum of the software networking market down under."

Denman brings more than 20 years of enterprise technology and sales leadership experience to Brocade.

He was most recently managing director for ANZ at Polycom, where he led the company's regional growth in the unified communications market.

He joined Polycom in 2012 with more than 18 years of sales leadership experience with Microsoft in the UK, Australia and Malaysia, where he was responsible for leading large teams to develop growth plans and customer opportunities.

"Brocade's dedication to fostering its leading position in the development of SDN and NFV innovations, and disrupting the networking status quo is impressive and unrivalled," Denman adds.

"I am thrilled to join Brocade at this historic moment to help our customers and partners embrace change and maximise their opportunities with open networking technology that can be easily integrated with their current infrastructures."
