Certus more than 'just a tech partner'

FYI, this story is more than a year old

Upon appointing Phil Ogilvie to the new position of Solutions Group Director, Certus Solutions aims to become more than "just a technology partner."

The regions largest specialist IBM systems integration company says the role will help develop Certus's capability to be a high level business partner to its customers.

Based in Melbourne but with a region-wide responsibility across the ANZ region, Ogilvie's appointment is key to the firm driving forward according to MD Brian Allen.

“Our Certus PurePlay philosophy is a key driver for our rapid growth and critical to achieving our forecast to double in size over the next three years," Allen says.

“PurePlay is about leveraging our end-to-end services across the full IBM solutions portfolio as a platform from which we can address the business issues and opportunities of our customers at a strategic level.

"For our customers technology is a means to an end. We need to focus as much on the end as the means.

"Phil Ogilvie's appointment to lead and build a Solutions Group within Certus is key to achieving that.

With over 20 years of experience developing and executing business and IT strategy, Ogilvie had led business transformation projects in industries ranging from telecommunications and banking to utilities and freight.

For six years he was a senior manager at Downer Group, where his roles included that of General Manager Business Transformation as part of the Downer EDI Engineering executive leadership team.

Prior to joining Certus, Ogilvie undertook consulting roles at Tenix and ANZ Bank.
