Connector Systems expands in Australia

03 Apr 12

Kiwi IT distributors Connector Systems have purchased Melbourne-based Techplus Distribution, in a move that will see both companies expand their product range, as well as their capabilities in pre-sales, implementation, configuration and training.

Specialising in virtualisation and WAN optimisation products, Techplus also operates a Sydney office, providing a platform for Connector Systems to further extend its reach across the ditch.

Dale Smith, managing director of Connector Systems, says the acquisition will create a win-win situation for both businesses.

"In the short term we will be looking to leverage off our combined strengths,” Smith says, "distributing a large portion of the Techplus product range in NZ and also distributing some of the Connector Systems products in Australia through Techplus.”

Techplus’ brands include Cyberoam, Kaspersky Lab and Veeam, among others, while Connector Systems sells Aerohive, Brocade, Clearswift, Ruckus, SonicWall and many more.

The purchase follows the acquisitions of OrderWare Solutions in August 2011 and Kalooma Technologies in November 2010.
