Expanding Synnex NZ continues market growth with PC hire

11 Jun 14

Synnex New Zealand has appointed Eric Lu as product manager for PC component products as the distributor continues to grow in the component market.

Lu, who was previously sales manager at Altech Computers NZ, has also worked for Asus, where he was in charge of Hong Kong, and Transcend where he was responsible for attaining the number one market position for their flash card business in India.

Lu takes over from Johnson Ko, who will now handle Acer for Synnex after the company was appointed co-distributor, alongside Dove Electronics, for Acer's full portfolio of products including notebooks, desktops, tablets, displays and server products.

Ko's role as product manager will also see him managing Netgear, Targus and WD.

Richard Harri, Synnex NZ country manager, says Synnex is continuing to grow in the component market.

“Quite often resellers want to come to a one-stop-shop and Synnex has all of the key components a reseller needs to assemble a top system," he says.

“The other key driver is that resellers like to minimise their exposure to price fluctuations on components and by Synnex holding the stock and providing reliable and consistent deliveries, they don't have to take on this risk to service their customers.”
