FYI, this story is more than a year old

Extreme Networks announced the appointment of Yvette McEnearney to Senior Manager, distribution for Extreme's APJC business and Julian Critchlow to Channel Manager in ANZ.

The new appointments supposedly reflect the company's overall momentum and continued investment in the Asia Pacific market and underscore Extreme's transformation to become the No. 3 player in the enterprise networking industry.

The appointments follow the strategic acquisitions of Zebra's WLAN business, Avaya's networking unit and Brocade's data center networking business.

Extreme Networks APAC VP Simon Naylor says, “It is an exciting time in Extreme Networks' history as we continue to grow and expand our wired and wireless network offerings across the globe whilst investing more resources in the APJC region.

“As a 100% indirect business, our channel partners are critical to our success and the appointment of these senior executives will bring increased focus to boost our footprint in the region.

“Yvette and Julian are veterans of both Extreme and the IT industry and together they make a formidable team focused on enabling and growing our partners in the region.

Yvette McEnearney has been promoted to Senior Manager, Distribution, APJC reporting to the US.

McEnearney has four years of channel partner and management experience at Extreme, as well as more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry.

Prior to Extreme, McEnearney worked on an Avaya IPT roll-out at Star City in the Philippines and stayed on for eight years at Avaya in senior channel roles.

McEnearney brings the ideal combination of deep industry knowledge, management experience and channel sales capabilities to this newly created role and will be responsible for driving the APJC-wide distribution strategy for the company.

Julian Critchlow has been appointed to Channel Manager, ANZ reporting to APJC.

He joined Extreme four years ago and has strong sales and technical background having worked as a pre-sales consultant for close to 11 years at Enterasys and as a senior network consultant for three years at Extreme. Most recently, Julian was responsible for a portfolio of Extreme's largest clients in New South Wales and Queensland.

His broad knowledge of the networking industry, coupled with his background in technical sales, supposedly makes Julian the ideal talent to lead the go-to-market channel strategy in ANZ.
