Fastly launches partner certification to combat rising cyber threats
Fastly has launched a new training and certification initiative aimed at technical security professionals working at its partner organisations. The Fastly Certified Services Partner Programme is designed to address growing security challenges reported by business leaders and to help partners develop deeper expertise in implementing and managing Fastly's security solutions.
Rising security threats
Recent industry studies show that a significant majority of business executives are noticing an increase in cyber threats. The growing complexity and frequency of attacks, compounded by advances in AI-driven threats, have exposed a shortage of trusted security expertise. Certification programmes, such as the one newly offered by Fastly, are becoming an important tool for partners seeking to demonstrate their capabilities and build customer confidence.
Certification flexibility
The new programme offers a self-guided structure, allowing participants to gain certification at their own pace. Once certified, partners will be given early access to Fastly's technology roadmap and be invited to technical workshops and webinars. Continuous access to future educational resources is also included. The aim is to give partners a broader technical base and to create new opportunities for service delivery.
Expanding partner options
"Equipping our partners with advanced training and certification in our security solutions enables them to expand their service portfolios, create new revenue streams, and deliver greater value to their clients, while also providing customers with greater choice and flexibility in how they implement and manage their security infrastructure," said Jeff Alpen, Vice President of Global Partnerships, Fastly. "The Fastly Certified Services Partner Programme is a pivotal step in strengthening our global channel ecosystem and delivering superior value to both our customers and partners."
For customers, certified partners can now implement Fastly's security solutions in addition to Fastly's own professional services. This allows businesses to work with local providers who hold recognised credentials based on Fastly's training. The programme is structured so that partner organisations achieving certification can carry the "Fastly Certified Services Partner" designation. Individual professionals completing the required training become "Fastly Certified Professional for Security Implementation."
Enhancing partner capability
Programme participants will receive both technical instruction and practical experience in the deployment and management of Fastly's security offerings. The company aims for the training to bolster partner capability and, in turn, improve service standards available to end customers.
Ben Trafton, Vice President of Client Services at Yottaa, described the programme as instrumental in enhancing their own team's capabilities. "Fastly's new certification program reinforces the strength of our partnership and empowers our team with the advanced technical knowledge needed to deliver exceptional results for our customers. It's a unique benefit for Fastly partners that enhances our ability to create greater go-to-market value together," said Trafton.
Ongoing enablement
This security-focused certification track forms part of Fastly's ongoing investment in partner enablement. The company intends to maintain and update educational resources for partners, reflecting its focus on helping them stay ahead of evolving security threats and service requirements.
