FYI, this story is more than a year old

Hitachi Data Systems' channel team has received a big boost with the company making four appointments as it seeks to bolster its engagement with channel partners in Australia and New Zealand.

Tim Moodie has joined Hitachi Data Systems in the role of ANZ channel marketing manager, moving across from Ingram Micro where he was a marketing executive. Moodie is charged with planning and execution of strategic channel and alliance partner programs, driving awareness and creating an opportunity pipeline.

Moodie's appointment sees former channel marketing manager Ed Daven taking on a new role, promoted to ANZ distribution manager after three years growing and developing the indirect business for HDS. In his new role, Daven will be responsible for managing the relationships with local HDS distributors Avnet Technology Solutions and Lynx Technologies.

Matt Wilson, who was previously distribution manager, has also been promoted, taking on the role of strategic partner manager for NSW and New Zealand.

HDS says Wilson will focus on developing innovative go-to-market strategies with specialist consultants, systems integrators and cloud providers who develop solutions-centric applications and services utilising HDS technologies and services.

Mark Edwards, previously strategic partner manager, is now focused on developing strategic IoT solutions and partnerships in his new role in alliance and cloud service provider partner managerment.

HDS says partners play a vital role in developing IoT solutions for areas such as public safety, healthcare and smart cities through collaborative creation.

Phil Teague, HDS Australia and New Zealand industry and alliances solutions director, says just as digital transformation is a strategic message for customers, so too, HDS is moving to a solutions-centric sell, forging new alliances and ecosystems with alliance and channel partners.

“Tim, Ed, Matt and Mark hold critical support roles that enable our partners to leverage our full breadth of solutions and to successfully build their business with Hitachi Data Systems,” Teague says.
