FYI, this story is more than a year old

Hitachi Data Systems has launched an Asia Pacific distribution centre that it says represents an investment of over US$3.3 million in Singapore’s Airport Logistics Park.

The new facility will be spread over an area of 35,746 square feet and its main goal is to better serve the company's customers in the region. Hitachi Data Systems also claims to be the fastest-growing storage vendor in the APAC region.

Kevin Eggleston (pictured), Senior Vice President and General Manager of Hitachi Data Systems, Asia Pacific, said, “Asia Pacific is the fastest growing region in the world. Our customer footprint in this region has grown rapidly and there has also been an increase in customer service level requirements. To support our company’s growth and to serve our customers even better, we decided to launch the Asia Pacific Distribution Centre.

“Our distribution centres serve as critical links in the value chain of Hitachi Data Systems and they are important contributors to our value-proposition to our customers. We perfect our offerings at the DCs to ensure that we not only meet the needs of our customers but exceed them.”

The launch was attended by representatives of Singapore’s Economic Development Board, senior government officials, customers and partners.
