HP has appointed two executives for its software and technology services divisions in Australia and New Zealand (South Pacific).

Richard Outten has been appointed as HP South Pacific software general manager.

Outten will be responsible for managing and growing HP's industry-leading software portfolio that simplifies, automates and secures IT for businesses.

HP's software solutions encompass enterprise IT management, information management, business intelligence, enterprise security, risk intelligence and software services.

Outten will also continue to serve as the HP partner business director in the South Pacific region.

In this role, Outten is responsible for managing and growing the indirect and commercial revenue for HP software through various channel routes to market.

Nathan Wappet has been appointed as HP South Pacific technology services (TS) general manager.

Wappet will oversee HP's comprehensive portfolio of consulting, business and technical support services.

These services solve infrastructure problems by reducing the cost and complexity of supporting hardware, software and network environments of all sizes and types.

Wappet will also be responsible for accelerating profitable growth of the TS business and ensuring service excellence is delivered to customers through a motivated and engaged workforce.

“HP delivers first-class software and services across the region that transform businesses and drive measurable value from technology,” says HP South Pacific vice president and managing director Paul Brandling.

“These executive appointments reaffirm our commitment to helping organisations effectively use software and services to align their technology with business objectives, ultimately fostering innovation.”

Outten and Wappet will both join the HP South Pacific leadership team.

Outten joined HP in 2007 following the acquisition of Mercury Interactive.

His previous experience includes a range of senior roles at PeopleSoft, Digital Equipment Corporation and IBM.

Wappet joined HP from Alcatel-Lucent, where he most recently served as APAC group regional services vice president.
