HPE unveils unified AI-native networking with Juniper updates

Thu, 4th Dec 2025

HPE has expanded its portfolio of AI-native networking solutions, underlining its focus on supporting increasingly complex hybrid technology environments.

The company has integrated Juniper Networks into its operations, only five months after the acquisition, with updates spanning automation, hardware, and industry partnerships for AI and cloud workloads.

Portfolio expansion

HPE is introducing new AIOps features and common hardware across both its HPE Aruba Networking and HPE Juniper Networking platforms. This unified approach aims to provide customers with a consistent user experience and a more integrated operational framework.

The company is also updating HPE OpsRamp Software and introducing new switches and routers, further embedding AI capabilities into infrastructure management.

Rami Rahim, Executive Vice President, President and General Manager, Networking, HPE, said:

"In the era of AI, customers need networks that are purpose-built with AI and for AI to handle the rapid growth of connected devices, complex environments, and increasing security threats. By delivering autonomous, high-performing networks, HPE is poised to disrupt the networking industry with future-ready solutions that redefine user experiences and provide robust, secure connectivity across all environments."

Unified AIOps

HPE is deploying a common agentic AI and microservices foundation across its networking platforms. The HPE Juniper Networking Mist Large Experience Model will now be offered within HPE Aruba Networking Central.

Similarly, Aruba's Agentic Mesh technology, which aids anomaly detection and root-cause analysis, will become available for Mist users. WiFi-7 access point models that work with both platforms are also being introduced.

The On-Premises 3.0 version of HPE Aruba Networking Central brings customers more advanced AI-powered insights and automation managed via an updated interface. This includes generative AIOps capabilities, actionable alerts, proactive remediation, and improved documentation search designed for secure, on-premises environments.

New hardware

The HPE Juniper Networking QFX5250 switch is being launched to serve high-performance AI networking needs.

It uses Broadcom Tomahawk 6 silicon and provides 102.4Tbps bandwidth, aiming to connect GPUs for AI workloads with energy efficiency and simplified operations. The MX301 edge router, compact but capable of 1.6Tbps performance and 400G connectivity, is designed to support AI inferencing at the network edge and a range of enterprise routing applications.

Industry partnerships

HPE has announced the extension of its partnerships with NVIDIA and AMD. The partnership with NVIDIA brings in support for Spectrum-X Ethernet networking and BlueField-3 DPUs. With AMD, HPE is launching the "Helios" AI rack-scale architecture, which features Ethernet networking for large-scale AI training and inferencing. This aims to deliver a single rack that supports up to a trillion parameter AI training and highlights the role of purpose-built, standards-based Ethernet switches developed with Broadcom.

Operational intelligence

Through integrations with GreenLake and enhancements to OpsRamp Software, HPE is pushing for full-stack observability for IT teams.

Integration with Apstra Data Centre Director and Data Centre Assurance software provides predictive assurance and proactive resolution across compute, storage, networking, and cloud. New Compute Ops Management features aim to speed troubleshooting and improve operator experience. GreenLake Intelligence adds new AI agents for sustainability and wellness dashboards, improving analysis and guided action across IT stacks. Support for Model Context Protocol is also available, allowing customers to connect third-party AI agents for more comprehensive operations management.

Customer financing

The company is also introducing new financial incentives. HPE Financial Services is offering zero-percent financing for purchases of networking AIOps software and a financing programme with the equivalent of 10% savings for networking hardware supporting AI workloads. There are further incentives for customers replacing older technology, including a revenue-sharing programme for resale.

Andrew Fox, Country Manager of HPE Networking Australia and New Zealand, said: "Organisations across Australia and New Zealand are accelerating their AI strategies, and the network is now the critical foundation for success. We're delivering the AI-native, self-driving networks our customers need to simplify operations and unlock new levels of performance and security with an integration approach built on a common agentic AI and microservices framework to ensure investment protection and a consistent experience across both domains."
