Ingram Micro announces new GM for NZ
Thu, 23rd Oct 2008
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Miley, who has been with Ingram Micro for over fourteen years, is only a recent arrival in New Zealand from the United States, having been here since January 2007. In that short time he has implemented a wide range of initiatives aimed at improving services to Ingram Micro's channel partners and said he hopes to "bring an operating style that leads to quick decision making" to his new role in Sydney, in order that "our reseller partners, vendor partners and employees can prosper".

While Miley is hoping to learn quickly about the intricacies of the Australian market, he is passing his New Zealand MD mantel on to a man who is already thoroughly intimate with the local market. Long-time executive team member and current GM of Volume Products, Bigwood said he plans to continue the process of implementing the innovative changes that he and Miley have been working on over the last couple of years. Miley described Bigwood as "extremely capable and well respected" and said his wealth of experience in the local market has been key to many of the initiatives Ingram Micro has recently put in place.

Although Miley will still be involved in New Zealand projects, as the Director ANZ, he said he has the "utmost faith in Gary and the rest of the team" and sees his role as "simply to assist them in achieving their goals and objectives, and to ensure that the momentum in that we are experiencing in the market is sustained".

Bigwood was not available for additional comment prior to publication.
