Kyndryl has announced the appointment of Graeme Beardsell as its new Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand.

Based in Melbourne, Beardsell will assume responsibility for enhancing customer value and expanding Kyndryl's market presence by focusing on industry-aligned capabilities across the Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) region.

Beardsell has significant experience leading technology organisations in the Asia Pacific and Japan markets. According to Kyndryl, he is equipped to assist customers in navigating the adoption of new artificial intelligence and IT modernisation trends.

Petra Goude, President of Kyndryl Strategic Markets, commented on the appointment, stating:

Graeme's expertise in AI, cloud computing, consulting, data and cybersecurity services, combined with his market acumen and people-focused approach will be an invaluable asset to Kyndryl. I am delighted to welcome him on board to help our customers translate technology investments into tangible results.

Beardsell will deliver strategies aimed at supporting customers across sectors including public sector, banking and financial services, energy, and utilities. In his own words, Beardsell said:

I'm honoured to join Kyndryl and work with customers across the public sector, banking and financial services, energy and utilities and beyond to deliver ongoing and sustainable transformation. With deep experience in mission-critical technology systems and a strong partner ecosystem, Kyndryl is well-equipped to help organisations in A/NZ navigate their most complex technology challenges. It's exciting to be part of the company's next phase of growth.

Part of Beardsell's mandate is to support Kyndryl's ongoing efforts to boost technology skills among underrepresented communities. This includes advancing the company's partnership with the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). As an inaugural grantee of the Kyndryl Foundation, Kyndryl and UTS have already provided cybersecurity training to 397 students and not-for-profit sector workers. The companies plan to extend fully funded training to up to 1,412 learners by June 2027.

Beardsell steps into the role previously held by Ashish Kumar, who has been appointed as Kyndryl's Global Collaborative Leader and is now based in India. Beardsell previously served as the Asia Pacific CEO for Fujitsu and has held leadership positions at Akamai, Experian, Salesforce, and IBM in the region.

Kyndryl provides advisory, implementation, and managed service capabilities to customers in more than 60 countries, focusing on designing, building, managing, and modernising complex information systems across a broad range of sectors.
