Layer 7 kicks off APAC expansion

01 May 12

SOA gateway, API management and cloud integration company Layer 7 has signalled its intention to expand its presence in the APAC market, appointing former Oracle account executive Colman McCaffery to lead sales in Australia and New Zealand and expand the company’s local team.

Layer 7 sells SOA gateways, cloud brokers and API proxies, all of which allow organisations to secure and control applications across organisational boundaries, including on mobile devices and in the cloud.

Based in Sydney, McCaffery will work with existing Later 7 channel partners to help create inroads with enterprise customers in the region, while looking to build the company’s team over the course of 2012.

Jeff Miller, vice president of sales at Layer 7, says the company’s expansion in APAC will help sustain the momentum that drove it to be named 71st in this year’s North American Deloitte Fast 500.

"We expect Colman and his team to quickly establish Layer 7 as the desired solution for SOA, cloud and mobile integration needs in APAC,” Miller says, "a market we consider to be key, and rapidly expanding.”

Layer 7’s main local partner is Australian reseller First Point Global.
