LogMeIn changes name to GoTo; releases new product portfolio
Thu, 3rd Feb 2022
FYI, this story is more than a year old

The company formerly known as LogMeIn has a new name, new brand, and a new identity. Now called GoTo, the company will specialise in IT specifically for small and medium businesses (SMBs).

According to GoTo's president and CEO Mike Kohlsdorf, the company has spent a year transforming internally, focusing on investment across global market efforts, innovation, and unification.

Kohlsdorf says the company aims to bring IT management, support, and communications together in one application - a different approach to others in the market that often specialise in providing one point solution.

“GoTo and the new portfolio better represent the company and our commitment to SMBs. We understand their particular challenges and have the focus and resources needed to address these pain points to better serve their dynamic working environments.”

Beyond the name and logo, the company has put together its first product portfolio. The GoTo Resolve and GoTo Connect products are united through one application for a converged user experience.

GoTo Resolve is described as an all-in-one product designed to simplify IT management and support, with functionality including remote access. It also offers a zero trust security architecture that protects endpoints from cyber threats and vulnerabilities.

GoTo Connect is described as a UCaaS experience that includes cloud telephony, meetings, messaging, contact centre, and training capabilities. It also includes Facebook integrations, and WebChat widgets. More features will be developed in the future.

These two products are supported in a single application, which also includes additional features such as ticketing and helpdesk experiences within GoTo Connect, adding phone access to the GoTo Resolve console, and automatically adding call notes to support tickets.

GoTo's new name and product portfolio have also attracted the attention of Frost - Sullivan, whose vice president of connected work, Elka Popova, says the simplified portfolio is well aligned with how SMBs purchase and use products - typically they prefer integrated and easy to use products.

“The harmonisation of the company's branding around the popular GoTo brand will also help better position the portfolio among organisations of all sizes evaluating options to modernise their communications, collaboration, and IT solutions.

Off the back of the new brand and products, GoTo is also launching a new partner network for MSPs, resellers, and distributors across its partner ecosystem.

The program includes a formalised tiering model with performance-related benefits to create additional revenue opportunities for providing remote support, endpoint management, and UCaaS and CCaaS products to SMBs.
