FYI, this story is more than a year old

LogRhythm has taken out the gold award for SIEM at Gartner's 2017 Peer Insights Customer Choice Awards.

The awards, which Gartner says are designed to help end users navigate the complexity of multiple reviews available for SIEM offerings, saw LogPoint take silver and Splunk getting Bronze.

Honourable mentions went to AlienVault, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and IBM.

The Customer Choice Awards for Security Information and Event Management are a ranking of vendors by verified end-user professionals, with the awards taking into account both the number of end-user reviews and the overall user ratings.

Ken Davis, Gartner senior vice president of products and services, says all of the reviews are submitted by an IT professional or business user who has had experience purchasing, implementing and/or using the enterprise solution they are reviewing and are free from conflicts of interest.

“In interpreting reviews, it's difficult for IT professionals to balance the number of reviews for a company versus a company's overall rating,” Davis notes. “The Gartner Peer Insights Customer Choice Awards are designed to help end users navigate these issues to make better purchase decisions.

Gartner says LogRhythm's users praised the company's quick customer support and the ‘superior ease of use' of the SIEM offering.

LogPoint's easy implementation and out-of-the-box functionality, along with its customer support garnered it points, while Splunk SIEM users said they enjoyed a ‘robust platform' that was easy to implement and use, with ‘remarkable' extensibility of the product.
