Palo Alto Networks has appointed Simon Green as ANZ vice president, taking over from Armando Dacal, who was promoted to a regional role as vice president, APAC service provider.

Green's appointment as ANZ boss sees him responsible for driving overall revenue and profitability for the security vendor across Australia and New Zealand, and overseeing all country and sector operations.

Green was previously the COO for Australian systems availability and data center company, Interactive.

Previous roles include a 13-year stint with NetApp, where he was senior vice president and general manager for Asia Pacific for the company, and was responsible for driving channel strategy, managing strategic partnerships and developing the company's emerging products business.

Green's LinkedIn profile notes he has ‘extensive' experience leading sales and business development teams.

Meanwhile, Dacal's new regional role sees him running Palo Alto Network's service provider business across Asia Pacific.

Earlier this week Palo Alto Networks announced changes to its NextWave channel partner program as it seeks to further enable its partners to become ‘next-generation security innovators'.

Those changes include global availability of its highest partner status, Diamond; along with an upgraded deal registration system, a new renewals platform and new differentiation and specialisations – and incentives for partners completing those.
