Renaissance Corporation announced the appointment of Richard Webb as the new CEO at Renaissance in early January, accompanied by the announcement that Murray Wood would be joining the company’s board.

Webb replaces former Managing Director Paul Johnston, who is now the Managing Director for Simms International’s New Zealand business.

Webb permanently settled in New Zealand last week after a move from Sydney, and he is currently visiting the different aspects of the Renaissance business and meeting with the group business units.

Webb has led and founded a number of global technology companies and was most recently the Chairman and Founder of Red Ocean, an Australian-based incubator for media start-ups. During his career, he has held more than 75 company board directorships in 21 countries.

Murray Wood is the founder of MagnumMac, which Renaissance acquired in 2007. He was asked to join the Renaissance Board in December. A substantial shareholder in the Renaissance Corporation, he was majority shareholder in Natcoll, which Renaissance also acquired in 2007. Wood is currently a director of several other companies including Canterbury Television Limited, Rapid Investments Limited and the Derivation Group of Companies.
