New SolarWind’s offering ‘strong fit’
Mon, 1st Aug 2011
FYI, this story is more than a year old

The SolarWinds Long and Event Manager (LEM), is based on technology from TriGeo, which SolarWinds recently acquired, and combines log management, event correlation and ad hoc search to provide the ability to collect large volumes of data from virtually any device on the network and correlate the data in real-time. Advanced search features support availability and performance monitoring troubleshooting, compliance verification and security.Doug Hibberd, SolarWind’s senior vice president and general manager Asia Pacific, says log and event management is a core part of IT management and security-focused solutions that are largely sold by the value-added reseller community today. "The SolarWinds LEM is a strong fit for any partners who focus on IT infrastructure and the management of that infrastructure. Additionally, SolarWinds LEM provides some security focused benefits for VARs that have traditionally targeted the security expert in these companies and that component of the product should open up a whole new set of partnership opportunities for SolarWinds.”Hibberd says the company’s downloadable, enterprise-class software model and the ‘affordable’ price, starting at AU$3800, will ‘create strong demand for this product in the market and partners will be able to capitalise on that demand’.He says the offering will be a ‘strong complement’ to the products channel partner Ingram Micro New Zealand already sells.
