Tue, 23rd Feb 2016
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Nokia is expanding its data center play, teaming up with integrated manufacturing solutions company Sanmina to collaborate on data center solutions to speed operator time to market.

The expanded Sanmina partnership will see the two companies delivering a broad range of data center solutions which enable operators to harness the cloud, focusing on the delivery of cost effective and scalable, multivendor cloud infrastructure solutions.

The announcement builds on Nokia's recently announced data center services, with Sanmina becoming a key delivery partner for the services.

Nokia announced its data center and cloud transformation services last week, saying its data center services create a custom-make, multivendor cloud infrastructure that is both agile and cost effective.

The company launched three professional services to expand its cloud wise services platform and help operators transform to the telco cloud and implement a data center infrastructure to run their cloud-based enterprise and telco functions.

Nokia says its Data Center services address the computation, storage and network requirements of a cloud operator.

The company says the three professional services it is launching will help operators transform to the telco cloud and implement a data center infrastructure to run their cloud-based enterprise and telco functions.

“Nokia Data Center services take a DevOps based holistic approach to agile service delivery for multivendor cloud environments,” the company says.

“This lets operators take full advantage of cloud technology to launch services quickly.

A second service, Cloud Transformation Consulting, helps operators plan and execute a practical strategy for making the best use of telco cloud opportunities, while Managed Cloud Operations is a managed service for hybrid operations across hardware, cloudware and application layer management.

Deepak Harie, Nokia vice president of systems integration, says Nokia's Data Center Services coupled with rapid delivery of validated and tested data center solutions tailored to each operator's requirements will be critical for customer's success in launching services quickly and efficiently.

“Sanmina's deep global supply chain and assembly expertise with complex, multivendor solutions will ensure seamless transition from design to delivery," Harie says.
