Nutanix has appointed a new channel director for Australia and New Zealand, and said his key tasks will be to manage channel partnerships and expand the company’s SMB presence.
In his new role Niall O’Gorman will work closely with partners such as Datacom, Fujitsu and Dimension Data, as well as a network of Systems Integrators (SIs), to help them bring the benefits of enterprise cloud platforms to enterprises and government agencies.
O’Gorman is also tasked with expanding Nutanix’s footprint with smaller enterprises by working closely with the company’s A/NZ distributors Exclusive Networks and Avnet Technology Solutions to deliver infrastructure solutions tailored to the specific needs of these organisations.
O’Gorman joins Nutanix from VMware where he was promoted to national partner business manager. In this position, O’Gorman managed all aspects of partnership with Tier 1 organisations Dell and Insight Enterprises, including over-arching strategy, business planning and executive engagement, sales, marketing and enablement.
Before VMware, O’Gorman worked at Avnet where he led the value-added distributor’s Citrix channel business through strategic development and enablement of key partners to generate new opportunities.
“Niall has established a reputation for identifying and building significant partnerships across a diverse range of channels,” says Andrew Cheong, Nutanix channel director Asia-Pacific.
“With this experience, Nutanix can continue to support partners in delivering a natively-converged compute, virtualisation and storage infrastructure to meet the needs of organisations requiring a resilient, software-defined enterprise cloud platform to manage their data centres," he says.
Commenting on his appointment, O’Gorman says: “By establishing key relationships since its launch in A/NZ, Nutanix and its partners have successfully transformed how local organisations consume IT by shifting the conversation from the technology itself to business outcomes.
"As Nutanix’s rapid expansion continues, my focus will be to help our partners provide simple, scalable and always-available cloud platforms so our joint customers can focus on their core business rather than the technology on which it runs.”
