OSS Group signs on as Dataiku's first NZ partner
Wed, 1st Apr 2020
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Dataiku, a provider of enterprise AI and machine learning platforms, has selected OSS Group as its first New Zealand partner.

The decision marks Dataiku's growing presence in the country and its aims to empower organisations to effectively scale their data, machine learning, and AI efforts.

Dataiku is a centralised data platform that democratises the use of data science, machine learning, and AI in the enterprise. Because each company's path to enterprise AI looks different, Dataiku supports the creation of a spectrum of applications, whether that means building out a self-serve analytics platform or fully operationalized AI integrated with business processes.

OSS Group will now add more capabilities to its data and integration practice, which specialises in data strategy, data governance, data integration, as well as data science and reporting.

OSS Group's managing director Ian Soffe says the company always looks at new ways in which it can help local organisations find business advantage, using innovative next-generation technology solutions.

“We are excited about the possibilities that machine learning and AI will enable for our clients and to add the capabilities of Dataiku to our data, machine learning and AI business,” he says.

OSS Group's head of data and software Simon King adds that artificial intelligence, machine learning and data science will drive growth across many of New Zealand's industry sectors.

“Challenges to wider AI adoption include the scarcity of specialist data science resources and the perceived complexity in creating and taking AI solutions into production,” he says.

He believes that Dataiku's platform approach can solve these challenges because it enables organisations to take the first steps to building enterprise AI models.

He adds that organisations are also able to retain a flexible deployment strategy that fits OSS Group's open standards approach.

“Dataiku is an excellent fit for New Zealand organisations, and we are delighted to be Dataiku's first New Zealand partner.

Dataiku Asia's channels and alliances manager Jiunn Hao Choo says, “OSS Group brings extensive data, machine learning and AI capabilities, a premier customer base, and local market knowledge – we are equally delighted to be working with them. Dataiku complements OSS Group's existing offerings - they have already been trained in Dataiku, and we've started to engage together on local opportunities."

This news comes on the heels of additional recognition and key moments in time for Dataiku in recent months. In September 2019, Dataiku was named to the Forbes Cloud 100, which ranks the top 100 private cloud companies around the globe. In February, Dataiku was also named a Leader in Gartner's 2020 Magic Quadrant for Data Science and Machine-Learning Platforms.

More recently in March, Dataiku released Dataiku 7, which brings deeper collaboration and more granular explainability to enterprise AI. The latest version of Dataiku brings enhanced integration for technical data professionals to work on machine learning project development and row-level explainability for white-box AI.
