FYI, this story is more than a year old

PC Tools has announced its arrival into New Zealand with the launch of a new performance and protection portfolio.

The portfolio includes PC Tools Spyware Doctor with AntiVirus, PC Tools Internet Security, Registry Mechanic and brand-new PC Tools Performance Toolkit.

Tom Powledge, Vice President and General Manager, PC Tools, said, "New Zealand has always been an important part of our global expansion plans. We believe there is room in New Zealand for a vendor that offers simple, easy-to-use, effective products for the price-conscious consumer and now a local presence will allow us to extend our customer reach within the New Zealand market.”

Independent testing by Passmark was said to show that the Performance Toolkit improved the experience of Windows 7, XP and Vista users, reducing boot time, while improving responsiveness and email accessibility within Microsoft Outlook.

The firm also boasts that its defrag technology outperforms Microsoft’s by 33.4%.
