Rhipe teams up with Symantec for endpoint security-as-a-service

08 Nov 17

Rhipe has inked a deal with Symantec to provide the vendor’s endpoint protection security-as-a-service solution in Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

Dominic O’Hanlon, Rhipe chief executive officer, says the Symantec Endpoint Protection Cloud, which is designed to protect small and mid-sized businesses from targeted attacks and ransomware, offers comprehensive capabilities in a streamlined security-as-a-service offering ideal for channel partners.

Chris Sharp, Rhipe chief strategy officer, says the offering adds a vital layer of granular proteciton, particularly for channel partners wanting to build their own clouds.

“[It allows] them to build even more secure solutions for their customers,” Sharp says.

Symantec Endpoint Protection Cloud provides a single cloud-based console for endpoint protection, management, mobility and encryption, Rhipe say.

The distributor says the solution simplifies management and reduces total cost of operation, which are typical pain points for SMBs.

Edwin Yeo, Symantec Asia Pacific vice president of channels and alliances, says the deal will enable Symantec to expand its reach significantly.

“Rhipe is one of the prominent cloud channel companies in Asia Pacific and Symantec’s integrated cyber defense platform focuses on empowering the businesses to securely embrace the cloud,” Yeo says.

He adds that ‘the solution’s seamless and easy management will be a welcome relief for overstretched IT departments’.

The Security-as-a-service hosted solution will be available in all 18 markets across Asia Pacific, with an initial focus on Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia.
