Second acquisition for Digiweb
Wed, 13th Jun 2012
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Kiwi hosting company Digiweb New Zealand has purchased Digital Network Limited, a fellow provider of hosting services and domain name management.

It’s the second big purchase for the Christchurch-based company in the last year, having also acquired Melbourne’s Domain Central Group in August 2011.

Digital Network Limited is responsible for the Nucleus web hosting service, and the Register Domains registry service.

Adrian Grant, managing director of Digiweb, says the acquisitions support the company’s organic growth.

"Over the past two years we have invested significantly on expanding our infrastructure footprint and service layer,” Grant says.

"Whilst the trans-Tasman market is well serviced for the large corporate market, there has been no obvious provider of services for the multitude of brilliant emerging SaaS providers growing from New Zealand and Australia.”

Digiweb now manages over 125,000 domain names, 60,000 email clients, and ‘thousands of websites across hundreds of high availability virtual servers’.
