FYI, this story is more than a year old

The .NET Web CMS provider has opened a New Zealand sales office that it said solidifies its presence in the local content management systems market.

Sitecore currently provides CMS software, online marketing automation, web analytics and intranet portals to New Zealand organisations that include Statistics New Zealand, New Zealand Ministry of Education, Auckland Airport, Barfoot - Thompson and Canon New Zealand.

“The demand for Sitecore CMS in New Zealand made it clear we needed to have an in-person presence there,” says Michael Seifert, CEO, Sitecore. “Once again we are expanding in key global markets by leveraging strong local talent to drive success.

The new Sitecore sales office will be based in Wellington. “This means on-the-ground support for our partners – from end user demonstrations and collaboration on new business pitches, to training and technical support,” said Philipp Heltewig, Managing Director, Sitecore Australia and New Zealand. “When we introduce new tools and functionality, like the recently released Sitecore Online Marketing Suite, there will be locally-provided training available to partners and end users alike.

According to the firm short-term goals include providing solutions in the New Zealand Web CMS market, building on existing partnerships and expanding its partner network.

Update: Philipp Heltewig, Managing Director for Sitecore Australia and New Zealand, has told The Channel that the firm plans to sign up 11 new partners. More here.
