FYI, this story is more than a year old

SonicWALL is a market-leading designer, SonicWALL's partnership with the channel is based on delivering value to their customers with solutions that are simple to deploy and manage.

SonicWALL is 100% channel focused, and continues to treat its channel partners as extensions of their customers' IT organisations, aiming to give them the tools they need to generate leads, maximise margins and meet their customers' needs.

SonicWALL's commitment to a 100% channel-driven strategy is based on two basic principles:

* Distributors are best at delivering products into the channel quickly and efficiently.

* End-user buying criteria drive the natural evolution of many reseller business models.

What are the benefits?

The SonicWALL Medallion Partner Program offers incentives based upon a reseller's business model rather than arbitrary designations. The Medallion Program is simple to join, as well as to obtain Approved Partner status.

Medallion partners are eligible for business proficiency training; business planning and quarterly business review; technical training and certification, which can include technology primer courses, SonicWALL-specific training and CSSA certification; technical support services; marketing tools and support; and sales engagement. Because SonicWALL drives all business through a two-tier distribution model, 100% of sales resources are focused on Medallion Partners.

A commitment to excellence

SonicWALL is a recognised worldwide leader in Unified Threat Management (UTM) security appliances. In July of this year, SonicWALL succeeded in brokering a new alliance with ProCurve Networking by HP to provide new levels of security price performance to enterprises globally. The ProCurve Alliance is a recently announced program designed to offer customers security, mobility and convergence solutions that have been tested and qualified for interoperability with ProCurve offerings.

According to the IDC's Worldwide Security Appliance Quarterly Tracker Report Q4 2006, SonicWALL has been the market share leader in UTM for seven consecutive quarters. The ProCurve Alliance will only strengthen SonicWALL's hold on the market, by extending its award-winning technology into the ProCurve network environment.

To further extend its reach as a global leader in Unified Threat Management, SonicWALL made the move to acquire Aventail Corporation in June. The move enables SonicWALL to better meet the needs of a broader set of customers by combining the two companies' complementary SSL VPN offerings.

Medallion Partners can be assured that by offering SonicWALL solutions, they are providing the highest level of enterprise-class security available. Aventail is a leading manufacturer of higher-end SSL VPN enterprise control deployments. With its suite of appliances designed for small and midsized organisations, SonicWALL has become the unit market share leader for SSL VPN appliances.

Progression

SonicWALL unveiled, in May, its new Network Security Appliance (NSA) E7500, a new gateway security appliance that makes deep packet inspection security productive and easy to manage in larger network deployments. With the launch of this new appliance, SonicWALL is a true leader in network security for SMBs and large enterprises.

Larger organisations increasingly require their IT departments to maximise productivity and network uptime, while also ensuring regulatory compliance and security and operating within tight budget constraints. The new application, NSA E7500, is designed to address these issues and to enable the highest level of UTM performance, thereby allowing mid-tier and enterprise organisations to reap the benefits of deep packet inspection security throughout their networks.
