Telcoinabox sells NZ business to Solarix
Mon, 8th Jul 2013
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Wholesale aggregator Telcoinabox has finalised the sale of its New Zealand business assets to Solarix Networks Limited, an IP Carrier Grade network Service Provider.

The company, which merged their Australia and New Zealand management teams to create one local team in Sydney last year, believes the deal is a "timely fit for the business."

"We had come to a point where we needed to invest in soft-switch infrastructure to take the business to the next level," says Paul Line, COO, Telcoinabox.

“Solarix has a high availability IP network and business-grade VoIP system throughout New Zealand.

"This, combined with its proven networking expertise, provides everything our Retail Service Providers need to meet the future demands of SMEs."

Solarix says it was attracted to Telcoinabox’s presence in the Small office Home office (SoHo) and small business space in New Zealand and saw an opportunity to expand its enterprise and corporate customer base.

The focus of the two businesses is to provide a seamless transition and migrate customers across to Solarix’s network with limited, if any, impact on end user services.

Telcoinabox will provide some support services for up to 6-months to ensure continuity.

“With our national IP Network, and increasing presence in Australia, we saw a very good NZ fit between our existing WAN-centric focus, and the SoHo and small business focus that Telcoinabox established over the last couple of years,” says Flemming Rasmussen, director, Solarix.

The Telcoinabox Australia brand and business has recently been acquired by Inabox Group Limited which is currently undergoing an Initial Public Offering in Australia.

Telcoinabox New Zealand is independent from Australia and not part of the IPO.
