FYI, this story is more than a year old

Brightstar has signed a new, three-year supply chain agreement with Telecom New Zealand to provide supply chain services for all mobile, broadband and fixed line products.

The new agreement extends the three-year relationship between the two companies and will see Brightstar NZ continue to provide a total supply chain management and optimisation solution for Telecom.

This is said to include device ranging and portfolio management, strategic sourcing, inventory management, warehousing, distribution and channel training.

The new deal also expands Brightstar's services to include direct fulfillment solutions for Gen-i.

"Since 2008, our best-in-class supply chain optimisation processes and solutions for Telecom have delivered significant cost savings, increased revenues and evolved the customer channel experience," said Jamie Cormack, General Manager, Brightstar New Zealand.

Alan Gourdie, CEO Telecom Retail, added, “Telecom is continually looking at ways to drive efficiencies across our supply chain through greater consolidation, while improving quality and service outcomes," said Alan Gourdie, CEO Telecom Retail. "Brightstar has proven its unique position as a truly end to end supply chain solution provider that delivers enhanced product availability, reduced time to market and innovative reporting in support of Telecom's market objectives."

Smith Micro Software has also announced a deal with Telecom for its software, the Smith Micro Software QuickLink Mobile connection manager, to power Telecom’s line of modem devices designed for PCs and Netbooks.
