A number of sources have told us that Toshiba's Australian based distribution team are looking again at their NZ distribution partners, with product discussions already occurring and potential for a new distributor appointment shortly.

One of the distributors named was Synnex, who when contacted flatly denied the rumour. Although local country manager, Richard Harri, is excited about an unrelated product range they will unveil this Friday.

This morning we took the new distributor rumours to Toshiba, to which we received the following denial:

"Toshiba is not planning on undertaking a tender process for its distribution business in NZ, therefore the current distribution arrangements remain in place.”

The Channel will follow developments on this front and report back once further rumours or announcements are made.
