Vodafone fibre cut, call centres down around the country
Mon, 16th Feb 2015
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Vodafone is experiencing an unexpected fibre cut in Auckland, Penrose, and says this is impacting Vodafone call centres nationwide.

In a statement, Vodafone said its mobile, broadband and business customers are currently unable to get through to call centres via the 0800 and 0508 numbers or by calling 777 and 888.

In a community post on its website Vodafone said, '"Our contact centre people are unable to service customers."

Furthermore, the fibre cut is also impacting customer self-service tools such as MyVodafone.

However, Vodafone's network remains unaffected. Customers are using mobile, fixed and business services as normal, the company says.

“Teams are working on a solution at the highest priority and Vodafone sincerely apologises for the inconvenience,” a statement reads.

Vector will complete the fibre repair work, the company says.

The Vodafone team says updates will be provided hourly.

Update: As at 6:40pm 16th Feb, Vodafone call centres were back taking customer calls, and self-service tools such as MyVodafone was also back up and running.

Vodafone says wait times will be lengthy due to the cut.
