Vodafone gives Aussies heading to NZ a 4G boost...
Wed, 20th Aug 2014
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Over 2.5 million Vodafone Australia postpaid customers can now benefit from 4G data speeds when roaming in New Zealand, for $5 extra a day on the telco's Red plan.

As a result, when in New Zealand, Vodafone customers will automatically roam onto the Vodafone New Zealand network.

Over one million Australians travel to New Zealand every year, making the country Australia’s No. 1 international holiday destination.

“We are pleased to announce Vodafone customers will now enjoy a great 4G experience right across the Tasman," says Kim Clarke CMO, Vodafone Australia.

“Vodafone Australia’s customers will find it easier than ever when roaming in NZ to share their holiday moments, navigate their way around the South Island using Google Maps, or track down a great restaurant at one of New Zealand’s great wineries.

“The best part of all is that $5 roaming won’t break the bank – it’ll cost you just $70 for a two-week holiday to use all your inclusions form your home plan, just like you were at home in Australia. None of our competitors come close to offering that kind of convenience and value.”

4G in New Zealand is provided by the Vodafone New Zealand network provided customers have roaming active and have a compatible handset and plan, handsets will automatically connect to a 4G network whenever it’s available.
